Multi Router Traffic Grapher (MRTG) uses SNMP to query your network device for the amount of traffic they have passed through each of their interfaces since the last query. MRTG generates webpages and graphs for each interface it queries.

MRTG is a simple monitoring tool that can be quickly configured. In addition to snmp monitoring MRTG can use simple shell scripts to monitor almost anything with a numerical output.
